Eek! The Cat full review
Eek the cat is the creation of Savage Steve Holland and Bill Klopp. The purple cat cartoon character is from the animated series that goes by the same name and got a new title in 1994 as Eek! Stravaganza. The animated series was on air for half a decade from 1992 to 1997 with Eek being the main character.
Eek is a purple cat with a good heart, at least that is the simplest way to describe it. His good heart almost always got him in trouble though the law of nature had a way of rewarding it. His generosity and the subsequent trouble brought humor to the animation. Eek had a human family he could not relate with through the spoken language.
Eek the cat is that optimistic, kind and selfless character that would always want to satisfy others and make them happy even at its own peril. It had the ability to talk with all animals and many humans. Ironically, it cannot communicate with its owners in the persons of Mom, Wendy Elizabeth, and J.B. It had the motto “it never hurts to help” which explains its kindness and selflessness even as the case is almost always different in the case of Eek. He would also usually exclaim “Kumbaya” and this word would normally come to mind anytime Eek is mentioned at least for those fortunate enough to watch the animated series.
One way or the other, Eek got the reward for his kind heart usually at the end of every episode. Eek was not the only character in the series and the support from other humorous character made the show even more fun and interesting to see.
These characters include Sharky the Shark dog who was Annabelle’s pet that was a guard to her house. Sharky would usually torment Eek just for the fun of it and their partnership was rare. Elmo or Elmo the Elk as it is otherwise called, is Eek’s loyal ally. Though a coward, Elmo would usually put out a courageous outlook. Eek had a girlfriend – Annabelle. Though fat, Eek does not seem to realise this and would see her as just being beautiful. And it was a love at first sight situation for the couple.
Other important people in Eek’s life were Mom, Wendy Elizabeth and Timmy. The world would definitely be a better place if we all were like Eek or at least almost like it.
